I have very fond memories of Bernard my husband Mark's uncle. Both Maureen and Bernard welcomed me into the family and have  always shown kindness and generosity. I feel is has been a privalage to know such a lovely, helpful and kind hearted man, mostly I will remember Bernard for his wonderful but yes sometimes quite dry sense of humour. The welcome extended to my daughter Melanie whom was only 4 yrs old when they first met and is now 17. They shared lots of little jokes together, including sending cards on her birthday entitled "To Princess Melanie" as he was "King Bernard" of course!

I used to own a mini and was learning to drive when we first met, unfortunately I never got to pass my test but he always showed a genuine interest in my driving endeavours, as he did with other things such as our house purchases and our holidays. It is going to be hard to never to see or to be able to chat to him again.

Greatly missed and never forgotten farewell Dear Bernard, you were the best Uncle in law!
